Big cities can be a little tough to take in the heat of the summer, but many of the world's best chef's are cooking in urban areas. This summer, make your white-table cloth splurge somewhere outside the big city. There are many Michelin-starred chefs that operate in areas far from the city's bustle -- in fact, in places that are downright picturesque.

Two very special meals to put on your summer dining list: Restaurant St. Hubertus, a cozy dining experience in the hotel Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano in the Italian Dolomites. Try Chef Norbert Niederkofler's creative tasting menu, which may include a risotto made with pine needles, topped with a smoked guinea fowl, pictured above. Or put yourself in the hands of celebrated German chef Harald Wohlfahrt, whose restaurant Schwarzwaldstube at the hotel Traube Tonbach in Germany's Black Forest, has held a coveted three Michelin stars for many years.
