Kauai Coffee Company was originally a sugar plantation, but switched into coffee production in the late 1980s. Although many people automatically think of Kona coffee when they think of Hawaiian coffee, the Kauai Coffee Company is now the largest coffee estate in the state -- which also makes it the largest in the United States.

The visitor's center is on an incredibly picturesque stretch of land, en route from Poipu Beach to Waimea Canyon. There's a gift shop, free samples of coffee, a coffee shop for more elaborate beverages and a light snack, and a self-guided walking tour. Admission is free.
