The 9th Street Italian Market in Philadelphia is the oldest and longest running outdoor Italian market in the country.
It definitely feels like a place apart -- an entirely different experience than the city's iconic
Reading Terminal Market. In some ways, the Italian Market oddly reminded me of outdoor food markets in China. It turns out that there are Asian vendors at this market, as well as representatives from the Middle East and beyond, but Italian food definitely still dominates, whether you're craving freshly-made cannoli, meatballs and gravy to go, or all manner of Italian sausage and bread. The Italian Market is also home to a great brunch spot,
Sabrina's Cafe.
