Restaurant Week, October 2011

A growing number of cities host a Restaurant Week -- an event that lasts a week or sometimes longer, in which area restaurants offer a prix-fixe menu for dinner, and often lunch, at an agreed upon price.

• Los Angeles, California
  dineLA Restaurant Week
  Lunches and dinners available at three set prices, at a huge number of LA restaurants.


• Albany, New York
  Downtown Albany Business Improvement District
  Prix fixe dinners at nearly 20 downtown restaurants.


• Buffalo, New York and surrounding areas
  Western New York Restaurant Week.
  Deals at restaurants vary, so check the website before you go.


• Santa Cruz, California
  Santa Cruz Restaurant Week
  Reservations are recommended for this event, which has the unfortunate acronym SCRW.


• Rockville, Maryland:
  Rockville Restaurant Week
  From pizza to Thai food, this event includes both lunch and dinner.


• Richmond, Virginia
  Richmond Restaurant Week
  Nearly 30 restaurants participate, a portion of proceeds benefits Meals on Wheels.


• Seattle, Washington
  Seattle Restaurant Week
  This event goes for 10 days, excluding Friday and Saturday, and includes over 100 restaurants.


• Maine
  Maine Restaurant Week
  Restaurants throughout the state participate; three course prix fixe dinners, with some restaurants offering lunch. There's another Maine Restaurant Week in March.


• Queens, New York
  Discover Queens Restaurant Week
  $25 three-course dinner, some restaurants allow children to eat free.


• Connecticut
  Connecticut Restaurant Week


• Minneapolis and St.Paul, Minnesota
  Restaurant Week 2010
  Lunch, dinner and wine pairings at restaurants throughout the Twin Cities and suburbs.


• Philadelphia, PA suburbs
  Main Line Restaurant Week
  Three-course dinners priced at between $15 and $40 per person.
