- New Orleans' Tales of the Cocktail, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The nation's premier cocktail event takes place over five days in New Orleans, and features dinners, demos, competitions and lots and lots of cocktail tasting. From seminars on vintage barware, to sampling how different mixologists handle the same cocktail -- for example, a Martinique 'Ti Punch -- to cocktail tours around the city, this is an event no spirits enthusiast will want to miss.
- Slugburger Festival, in Corinth, Mississippi.
- Park City Food and Wine Classic, in Park City, Utah.
Taste more than 500 wines, with a strong emphasis on wineries from the U.S. west, and sample Park City's cuisine, in a food and wine festival that aims to celebrate its location. For example, there's an event called "Mud, Sweat and Cheers" which combines mountain biking, wine tasting and dining.

- Taste of Champlain Food Festival at the International Waterfront Festival in Burlington, Vermont.
This event celebrates Vermont's unique culinary scene, especially its ties with France -- many Vermonters are of French-Canadian descent, and France and Vermont are involved in agricultural technical exchanges, plus, both areas are heavily involved in cheese production. Additionally, sample Native American cuisine, strawberries and more.

- Taste of Buffalo, in Buffalo, New York.
Sample the specialties of more than 60 area restaurants at this event, which typically is attended by more than 450,000, making it one of the largest food festivals in America. It's less about the gourmet and more about the everyday -- it is sponsored by the supermarket chain, TOPS. The restaurants include local faves like Dinosaur BBQ as well as national chains, like Appelbee's. Each restaurant is also offering a healthier, low-cal option. - California Wine Festival, in Santa Barbara, California.
One of the state's largest outdoor wine festivals takes place in Santa Barbara. The event includes a beachfront tasting of over 350 wines from more than 100 California wineries, champagne receptions, silent auctions, live music and other entertainment.
- Lender's Bagelfest, in Mattoon, Illinois.
Every year, Lender's bagels throws a party, which starts with a free bagel breakfast, and includes softball games, a carnival, musical performances, free samples of new products, and more.

- Finger Lakes Wine Festival in Watkins Glen, New York.
Held on the grounds of Watkins Glen International race track, the centerpiece of this event is a festival including tastings of Finger Lakes wines from over 80 wineries . Other events include local cheese tastings, local and regional beer tastings including microbreweries, champagne breakfasts, live entertainment including the ability to tear around Watkins Glen speedway in a pace car.
- Kirkland Uncorked, in Kirkland, Washington.
Taste 60 wines from 20 Washington wineries, in a "Tasting and Lifestyle Garden", while nibbling on the best bites from local restaurants. Local chefs compete in a grilling competition and provide grilling tips and information.

- Vermont Brewers Festival, in Burlington, Vermont.
Sample the suds of 30 craft brewers from New England and the Mid-Atlantic. Three tasting sessions throughout the weekend, and the opportunity to meet the brewers live and in person.

- Oregon Brewers Festival, in Portland, Oregon.
At the annual installment of this long-running festival, sample more than 80 craft beers from around the country, while listening to live music. Admission is free, you purchase a "tasters package" which gives you a souvenir mug and a certain number of tokens that you can exchange for a full mug or a taste. Craft root beer available for designated drivers. There's also homebrewing demonstrations, and separate celebratory brunch and dinner, brewery bike tours and more.

- Gilroy Garlic Festival, in Gilroy, California.
A not-to-be-missed event for garlic lovers, whether you can't live without garlic bread or shrimp scampi -- or whether you're adventurous and want to try garlic ice cream. You can also buy garlic in all its forms, including fresh, roasted, and in an aioli.
