This page lists culinary events that typically take place in April. It will be updated throughout the month, bookmark and check back often!

Food Festivals

  • Scottsdale Culinary Festival, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
One of Arizona's premier culinary events includes all the food festival basics you'd expect -- cooking demos, wine tastings, beer tastings, gala dinners and so on -- much of which happens outdoors, especially at the affair's cornerstone event: The Great Arizona Picnic.

  • World Gourmet Summit, in Singapore.
A monster of an event which includes a huge variety of cooking classes and demos, lunches, brunches, chocolate tastings, and of course, very special dinners.

  • Taste of Vail, in Vail, Colorado.
In addition to food festival standbys of a grand tasting and food wine seminars, this event includes the annual Colorado Lamb Cook-off, and Après Ski Tasting and a mountaintop picnic prepared by Vail's best chefs.

    Wine Festivals

  • Yakima Valley Spring Barrel Tasting, throughout the Yakima Valley, Washington.
More than 50 participating wineries in the Yakima Valley open up their doors and tap their barrels for a preview of the vintage.

  • California Wine Festival, in Orange County, California.
Sample the wares of many California wineries and craft breweries at this festival, which takes place in Dana Point. There's another part of this festival which takes place in July in Santa Barbara.

  • Blue Ridge Wine & Food Festival, in Blowing Rock, North Carolina.
A heated cooking competition, and wine tastings of North Carolina wines, as well as wines from elsewhere in the region and around the world, are the centerpiece of this event.

  • Taste Gorge Wine, in Portland, and Hood River Oregon and throughout the Columbia Gorge.
The Columbia Gorge is among the most dramatic landscapes in wine country, and you can taste at the wineries here via a "Passport" program which is part of the event. Or there's one stop sipping at a tasting in Portland, or at a benefit event in Hood River.

  • Pittsburgh Wine Festival, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Wine dinners, wine seminars, wine tastings, a Grand Tasting are all a part of the city's premier wine event.

    Specialty Events

  • Asparagus Festival, in Stockton, California.
Celebrate the premier crop of San Joaquin county while taking in cooking demonstrations and munching on deep-fried asparagus.

  • My Nana's Salsa Challenge, in Tempe, Arizona.
In a state that makes good use of salsa, here's a statewide competition to find the best. Chefs prepare salsa in various categories on the spot.

  • Ribfest & Wings, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Dig into ribs and wings, participate in a hot wing eating contest, or, if that's too much handle, an ice cream eating competition will certainly cool you down.

  • Fallbrook Avocado Festival, in Fallbrook, California.
Celebrate the avocado in the county that produces the most avocados in the United States.
