Italian food has become so common in the United States that several Italian staples (pasta, the latte) have become entirely appropriated by American cuisine. But there's a lot more to Italian food than what you'll find at even the most terrific Italian restaurant stateside -- to really get to know Italian cuisine, you're just going to have to go to Italy.
