There's great eating in Nashville, and it's now easier than ever to find it with the help of Nashville Essentials, a new iPhone app created by Music City authority (and food, wine and travel journalist) Margaret Littman.
Margaret's the one who first told me about the city's famous hot chicken, and so I will definitely check out her dining picks the next time I'm in town.
The dining coverage in Nashville Essentials ranges from Robert's Western World, which has a Recession Special -- five dollars will get you a PBR, a fried bologna sandwich, chips and a moon pie -- to Farm House restaurant at Fontanel, which focuses on locally grown ingredients.
The app costs $2.99, which includes ongoing updates, and is designed for both the iPhone and the iPad. Download at the iTunes store.
