Toronto's must-see foodie destination, St. Lawrence Market, is in for a substantial overhaul, and the exact details were announced today.
First, some background: Most visitors hit the historic South Market, which is not scheduled for renovation -- it's the far-less-charming North Market, across the street, that will be completely overhauled. (The North Market is where the Saturday Farmer's Market is held.)
The city held a design competition and today announced the winning design, submitted by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners: check it out here, it's going to be beautiful. I'm looking forward to visiting when it's finished.
And by the way, the Saturday Farmer's Market will continue during construction at a temporary location, details here.
