Ginger enjoys the hotel bed.

A couple of years ago, my husband and I took a trip to Québec. We were driving, and because our cat Ginger was needed daily medication, we brought her with us. We stayed for a night at the InterContinental Montreal, and then moved on to a rented cabin near Mont Tremblant. She preferred the cabin, I think, since it had one of her favorite foods: mice. I was less enthusiastic about this "amenity".

At the hotel, Ginger dined on her regular food, which we brought with us. But hotels are increasingly catering to their cat and dog clientele. Check out these fifteen hotels with pet menus -- nary a mouse to be found, in fact, they often rival human menus in quality and creativity!

It's true that cats are not noted as stoic travelers, but that trip with Ginger was a lot of fun. I think she enjoyed it too. She's no longer with us, but I'm sure glad that we had that little adventure with her -- and that she got to stay for a night in a luxury hotel!
